Everything is Falling, Included the US Consumer Price Index!
May 2nd 2009 15:57
Honestly, in the recession moment, everything seems to be situated in a deep sleep condition. Well, the US Consumer prices is also one of the victims of this economy turmoil. According to the latest survey, the US consumer price index was down 0.4 percent in March, and it’s the worse annual decline since 1955!
The even shocking thing is the Federal Reserve pointed out that US industrial production having a 1.5 percent decrement in March, which is a few times more than the analysts’ expectation.
Based on this terrible condition, some of the economists had predicted that it might leads into a prolong period of falling prices, which is normally known as “deflation”. Well, hopefully it won’t turn into the deflation, as it might become a disaster if this really happened in the future…
Government should do something to stimulate and encourage the citizens to spend some money, as the economy won’t get better, if people keep all the money nice and safely in their wallets!
