As a civilian, we’re always wondering, “How many money did our country spent in the defense sector?”
To be honest, the money that being spent in purchasing power has been increasing year by year, even in the economic downturn!
Can you believe that there is up to US$1,140.5 billion has been spent in the global defense sector? This amount is expected increasing up to US$1,527.6 billion by 2012!
The more sarcasm fact is, the expenses in the defense sector rapidly increased, especially in the economic downturn moment! Believe it or not, many countries’ governments claimed that the defense spending can be used to beat up the recession.
By the way, here is the statistic of defense spending in 2008!
• Total spent in defense sector in United States: US$374 billion
• Total spent in defense sector in Asia: US$173 billion
• Total spent in defense sector in European Union: US$144 billion
Some countries’ governments thought it’s necessary to invest in the defense sector, although some of them were totally against it! Well, different countries have different point of views, and we cannot judge them based on their opinions!
