Thailand, one of the most exotic and mysteries countries in Southeast Asia, has been reported to have technically exports slump by more than a quarter in May, 2009!
This situation happened, as the total demand for Thai goods in worldwide has been greatly decreased since January 2009! According to the report, the exports fell by 26.6% compared with a year earlier to US$11.7 billion. Meanwhile, the imports were significantly dropped by 34.7 % as well, which is only recorded with US$9.3 billion!
The Thai’s government said that the Thai economy is recently suffering with the worst recession in decades, which is even worse than the economy crisis in 1998!
Beside of the export sector, many sectors also claimed having the same problem, especially the tourism sector, which is already reported to lose over US$5.35 billion revenue, due to the uncertain political and economy turmoil!
Honestly, this year is the most difficult year for Thai, no matter in economy or political fields! Hope they will able be going through the difficult times…
