The Best Gift for the Elders!
October 7th 2009 15:15
Every month, I will take some time and drop a visit to the local old folk’s home. My visit is always welcome by the old folk’s home authority, especially the elders.
When I’m approaching the elders, they always invited me to join them. Don’t underestimate the older people, as most of them are used to be the professional workers, such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers and much more. I love to spend my time talking, laughing and cheering with these “Cute old babies”.
Honestly, a few of them are very humor, as they frequently tell me some very hilarious jokes. Darryl, the eldest and the humorous senior in the old folk’s home always say, “Life without jokes is absolutely damn bore!” That’s why, he always loved to share his jokes with everyone, including those who met for the first time!
Beside that, I loved to chat with Beatrice, the most knowledgeable woman in the old folk’s home (She was a former librarian keeper in the local town library, and she’d read more than 500,000 books in her life), as she seems to know most of the things in this world. Frankly, no matter what question I ask her, she can easily answer it in less than five seconds! So far, she’s the most brilliant yet amazing old lady that I’ve ever met.
Beatrice always reminded me that as a son, we should do whatever it takes, to treat our parents as good as we can. She also told me that no elders would like to end up their life living in the old folk’s home! I can barely see some tears slipping through her cheek, every time she mentioned this sorrow situation in front of me.
I listened to the elders’ golden words, as I always think that older people are “sparkling gem” to the youngsters. Remember, without them, we didn’t have the chance to be born into this wonderful world at all.
So, as a return, I’d decided to give my parents a special gift, and the over 50s life insurance is the perfect choice for them. I definitely sure that they will love it.
Thanks, daddy and mummy!
