I find most services in this area appalling, with customers being given the run around and expected to hang dangling on the end of a phone often pressing this and that and wait and see and after a lot of wasted time, often we end up where we started.

Good customer service would be so good, but the money hungry won't spend a cent more than they have to.

Pride in a well run business has been sacrificed for the better bottom line, no matter how bad the service.

You also have the point here, Katyzzz. However, the customer support is still necessary, no matter how bad the global economy turbulence is...
