Will Ghana Becoming The Next Wealthy Country With The Oil Boom?

Before Ghana got its name, after achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1957, it formerly known as “Gold Coast”, as it has many gold mines located in the country!
Although it has many natural resources, but it doesn’t help the Ghana leaving from the poverty line. According to the latest survey, there are about 30% of the Ghanaians currently live below the international poverty line of US$1.25 a day.
However, the god of fate seems to pamper the Ghana with a very awesome gift, where an oilfield is reported to contain up to 10 billion barrels of light oil has been discovered in 2007!
According to Kwabena Duffuor, the current finance minister of Ghana, their country will become a very prosperous nation in the next 10 years, due to the blessing of oil export sector!
“Don’t forget that Norway was one of the few lucky countries that being gifted and blessing with wealth, due to the discovery of oilfield as well!” Duffuor said.
Beside that, Ghana will try to develop a fund for oil revenues, which is similar to Norway’s sovereign wealth fund in near future!
Well, let’s crossed our fingers and wishing the best for Ghana…
